Born in a Terraced house on the side of a mountain in a Welsh Mining village and went to local State schools. Served an Engineering Apprenticeship and later graduated from Cardiff and Loughborough Universities. Joined Ford Motor Co. in 1980 finally retiring in 2012 after a variety of jobs.
Married to Lynn and have 3 sons all went to Mayflower School.
